In the year 1400 a monk in Subiaco created in secret the "Amaretto" to cheer up the mensa of the convent. When one day, after having walked over the hills of Monte Cassino, fatigued, maked a stop in Guarcino, where Falconi offered him bread and bed. And the old monk to reward Falconi, perfect host, gave him the recipe of the Amaretto in order to cheer up his meals. From that faraway date the Amaretto Falconi become famous for its original flavor. The Bar Pasticceria Falconi is known since 1954 for his kindness and as a meeting point.
Amaretti and Guarcino seem to be one thing. Speaking of one you can not mention the other. Guarcino is a town located 10 minutes far away from Fiuggi, nestled between the Ernici montains and seems to float between the green of the Altipiani di Arcinazzo. In winter is a skiing resort and in summer becomes a relaxation center with the cool of the forests and the famous water of its source Filette. Guarcino is located 20 minutes far away from Frosinone and the motorway A1 (Roma-Napoli). The exit to Guarcino in the A1 is Anagni-Fiuggi.
